Why Public Utility Brokers is the Smart Choice ?
When it comes to buying electricity, there is no lack of choice in Texas. So why choose PUB to help you get the best rate?
The answer is simple. As an aggregator, PUB works for you, not for the power companies. In Texas, there are three types of energy resellers: aggregators, brokers, and consultants.
The Advantages of Being an Aggregator
Anyone can be a consultant or broker; there are no standards or qualifications to meet, and no PUC regulations to which to adhere. Only aggregators are governed by the state. They must register with the Public Utility Commission, they must abide by the rules the Commission sets forth, and they must file annual reports on their activity. Otherwise, they can incur stiff penalties and even lose their business.
Being an aggregator calls for a lot more knowledge, expertise and integrity. By definition, an aggregator "negotiates the purchase of electricity" and "may not sell or take title to electricity." In other words - by law - Public Utility Brokers represents the buyer, not the seller.
PUB can also do true aggregation, and combine customers into bulk buying pools with advantages in savings. No broker or consultant can legally do that.
Industry Expertise and Quality of Service
PUB has always sought quality of service over quantity of sales. Although we work with a large number of Retail Electric Providers, we never promote one over another. We never accept incentives, bonuses or request advance payments of any kind, and we do not employ commissioned sales people. There are simply no conflicts of interest. As a client, you always come first.
Besides strictly following the rules of the Public Utility Commission (PUC), PUB also adheres to the standards of integrity set by the Texas Electric Professionals Association (TEPA). In fact, Mark Goodson, the president of PUB, helped write the association's Code of Conduct.
Mark also serves on the Legislative/Regulatory committee, which keeps tabs on PUC and legislative activity, to ensure consumers' interests are being served. This is especially important for medium to large commercial customers, who can easily fall through the regulatory crack between residential and industrial users. Mark is widely regarded as an expert on Texas electricity, and is often quoted by the media.
